I tried it, but this seems to be a decision by the contexts app - it also doesn't select the next app on very small scrolls on the Magic Mouse or Trackpad - probably to prevent accidental scrolls.
I added a wokaround in 5.789 for this: "Discrete Line Mode". It will not use smooth scrolling for very small scroll events. This definitely comes with some (acceptable) trade-offs in the overall smoothness, but I think it is the only way to support this special case:
Tried it and it is working as expected now. Thank you so much for your efforts
Thanks for all the work on this! Smooth scrolling is a great improvement. One issue: I just updated to the latest alpha, and it looks like at some point, Make All Buttons Available For Remapping in BTT stopped working on my G502 X Lightspeed. Buttons 3 and 4 (back and forward) are still working, but buttons 5-7 are no longer recognized, it seems.
Edit: also, is there / will there be a way to disable smooth scrolling per app?
the namesof the mice might have changed in the recent alpha, try to select it again in the dropdown.
Scroll modifiers can be done per app, or you can put the in a conditional activation group to make them even more flexible (e.g. create a conditional activation group that excludes some apps) Global and App Specific Triggers Ā· GitBook
Hey Andreas,
I have btt v5.789. My MX Master 3 is connected.
However, when I try to set the Logitech mouse configuration, it wonāt let me pick my mouse:
Any idea why that is happening?
I had to restart BTT after adding the logi mouse configuration for the mouse selection to show up for my MX Master 3s For Mac
Hey thanks for reporting! I'm currently checking why this is happening for some. Will upload a fix in a few minutes.
It should now show at least a re-scan button if no device is detected immediately. (v5.793 )
This is great, thank you for adding support for logitech.
Iām having an issue with the middle mouse button. Clicking it to open links/close tabs broke. After remapping it back (middle mouse button ā middle mouse click) that is fixed.
But i still canāt drag scroll which used to be possible with https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/smoothscroll/nbokbjkabcmbfdlbddjidfmibcpneigj?hl=en - basically hold down the middle button and move up or down to scroll.
Is it possible to have BTT ignore the middle mouse button and directly pass it through?
the middle mouse button issue should now be resolved in v5.794. You might need to power toggle off/on your mouse to make it work. Also you will need to delete your middle mouse => middle click remapping from BTT.
Hi! Iām experiencing similar problems to this guy: BTT mouse gestures stop after sleep , Logitech configurations, including invert main scroll wheel and all the custom mappings, do not work immediately after the system is put to sleep or the mouse goes to sleep due to inactivity.
Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?
It might take a few seconds for the mouse stuff to initialize, how long doesn't it work for you?
It was certainly more than a few seconds. I opened āLogitech Mouse Configurationā and found that my MX Master 3 was not shown in the dropdown. Only restarting BTT fixed this. Iām on v5.794 btw.
Can you reproduce this by putting your Mac to sleep and waking it again?
Iāll try this tomorrow as I donāt have access to my Mac right now. Is there any log that can be captured?
Yes, you can enable the detailed logitech debug logging using this terminal command while BTT is quit:
defaults write com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool BTTLogitechDebugEnabled 2
The logs are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/BetterTouchTool/Logs
Another strange bug is scroll triggers such as those used in Tutorial: Use New Scroll Triggers On Floating Menu Items does not work with my Logitech mouse (both horizontal and vertical scrolling). I can scroll the floating menuās contents (if it is scrollable) just fine, but the items do not seem to receive these events.
Did you enable them in the menu item settings? (they are off by default because they can have some side effects)
Iām using the preset you provided in the tutorial. And yes, it is enabled and I can trigger volume/brightness changes using the built-in touchpad just fine, it is the mouse thatās not working.
