I've used BTT for a long-time. From time to time I think I've already created a shortcut for something I want to do. However, I don't see an easy way to search through all the shortcuts I’ve already made to find the one I want. Does this function already exist and I haven't found it yet? If not, would there be a way to include a basic search function for either the target or a keyword or tag etc.?
There is a search function at the bottom of the BTT window. There you can search for the name. If you want keywords, you can simply write them after the name and search for them as well.
thanks for pointing this out. i have been a btt user for 10+ years and never ever have i found this i simply consider search features to always be in the header area of an app AND more importantly to get focus when i hit cmd+f
this was really a long time pain point for me. i know it sounds as if i am simply too stupid, but maybe this could be considered as an improvement.
Just for reference: the easiest way to find a shortcut you have configured in BTT is by triggering it and then looking into the "Recently Used" section
I should preface this by declaring - as I've done so before - that BTT is a Godsend; truly something from heaven for shortcut nuts like myself.
This said, assuming there isn't one, I find it kind of funny that there isn't a keyboard shortcut to search within BTT!
As a V1 I'd love ⌘F to jump to the search icon at the bottom of the Groups & Top Level Triggers view and click it, so that I can then type "Pause Pi-Hole" or whatever my trigger/group is called.
For V2 a global ⌘⇧F would - maybe - implicitly - do a ⌘⇧0 but then search through all triggers, actions, descriptions, notes etc. etc. That would be bonkers amazing.
Just the musings of a long-time user who's also a long-time deveoper. Just my 2d in other words lol.
