currently I want to tweak the settings of my Logitech MX Master 4 - especially the wheel.
What I see in using my mouse wheel is, that it's pretty difficult to navigate a page (veritcally) to a exact position. It feels somehow random how the wheel responds.
When I turn the wheel pretty slowly it nearly makes not movement on the page (vertical). When I move it fast - but the same distance - it makes a lot of movement.
Is this intended?
Which setting would change this behavior?
Would it even make sense to deactivate that behavior?
In the Scroll Modifer: Smooth Scrolling (like Trackpack) I set the Acceleration Strength to 0 (see screenshot below).
Okay, the "Scroll Modifier: Distance per Tick" does what I wanted. But it does not feel as good as intended originally
Still wondering what Acceleration Strenght in the "Scroll Modifier: Smooth Scrolling (like Touchpad)" actually is doing? It seems that 0 does not deactivate it.
if you add the "Scroll Modifier: Disable / Reduce Scroll Acceleration" in addition to smooth scroll, the system acceleration should be gone.
Acceleration strength is basically additional acceleration BTT can add on top of the system acceleration. I'll change the description to make this more clear.
Do your logitech mouse configuration possibly have high resolution scrolling active? (that changes the behavior of the scroll and might cause the default parameters to fail for the acceleration disable modifiers)
I would try setting Continuous Deacceleration Strength to 0.1-0.2 and the Reference Speed around a comfortable normal delta, then restore speed with Output Speed Scale.
In the video you can see all my settings. At the end I do two moves with the mouse-wheel - both around the same distance:
very slow movement: You see that only 8 rows in excel move
a fast movement with around the same distance as (1): You see that more than 50 lines in the excel move.
Meanwhile I think I definitely want some acceleration - but this is way to much. I can't find the right parameter to adjust this. Even if I set "Continuous Deacceleration Strength" to 10 (which is x100 of the 0.1 from the video) it still move around 50 lines in excel. It seems that these settings have no effect on my machine....
mhh, could you test with 6.697? I have also tried to add a feature that disables the default macOS acceleration, this might allow fine tuning with BTT's acceleration strength afterwards:
I also have changed some of my modifiers - e.g. no longer using the Scroll Modifer: Smooth Scrolling (like Trackpack) for the vertical scrolling since I don't want the rubber effect.
But my settings should lead to no acceleration, still I see acceleration.

Do you see anything in my settings that could lead to a acceleration.
Since It worked, I also made one or two macOS updates. I am now on 26.6.2.
