From a previous post here I got the tip to free the FN keys of macOS. In BTT, I should assign all FN keys (i.e. FN+F1, FN+F2...FN+12) on the level “For all”, but leave them free for actions. This way, MacOS can no longer use them, but BTT does.
I wanted to do the same with FN+Arrow left/up/right/down. And then replace within BTT with a new folder for FN+Arrow left = move window left, up = full screen etc. But that doesn't work, nothing reacts here.
Where am I making a mistake?
I don't use any shortcuts in the macOS keyboard settings, everything should come from BTT. The background is that it has actually worked very well so far, just not in Safari, because Safari is the only app that use that combines FN+arrow keys with tab switching or view switching and Apple does not give me the free decision to deactivate this.
Mh it seems to work fine here, just tried with FN+arrow left:
However FN based shortcuts can only work if secure input is not currently active on your system. BTT would show a warning about this like so:
You can do that also in Safari browser?
I do not have this Secure input activated. It isn't in my list.
Works fine here in Safari. What happens when you try it in Safari?
Safari uses Page Up/ Page Down instead.
So that behavior I wanted to overwrite via BTT.
Are you using any non-Apple keyboard maybe? (The FN key is always vendor specific)
No. I am using the MacBookPro keyboard. I use System Preferences -> F1-12 behave like functional keys. (= to make display brighter/ less brighter I must hold FN and Press F1)
Hi Andreas, I am referring to this older post by myself. This was your answer:

I think you should be able to record FN+F1 etc. in BTT. The system should not react to them anymore once configured in BTT."
Recap:
- What I want to do? Safari has an annoying FN + Arrowkeys behavior I want to overwrite.
- What I did? BTT assigning FN+Arrow-Keys but leave them blank, following "I think you should be able to record FN+F1 etc. in BTT. The system should not react to them anymore once configured in BTT."
- What is happening? This works with system stuff like display brightness up/ down. But not inside Safari.
- Question: How to force Safari to not scroll through the document if FN+Arrow is pressed. Instead, like with every App on my system, windows should be re-moved on the screen with FN+Arrowkeys.
