Maximize Window to Top,Bottom, Left, Right Half actions no longer working

As mentioned in the title, the actions of Maximize Window to Top,Bottom, Left, Right Half actions can no longer triggered by button on the floating menu.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro M3 Max
  • macOS version: 14.6.1 (23G93)
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4.697

Thanks in advance

Weird, that seems to work fine here. Could you maybe share your floating menu?

I do not know if it may be of help, but I had the same issue, and it was solved after resetting all settings (with modifying the presets).

Interesting! If anybody else encounter the issue, it would be great if you could go to help => export diagnostic debug information and send the result to me (andreas@folivora.ai)
(if you already were able to fix it, the debug info won't help locate the issue anymore)

I use "Cycle through multiple actions (on repeated trigger)" actions to cycle through these two. I use another cycle actions for left and right half.

I have created a single action to maximize window to top, bottom, left for troubleshooting - still no action upon activating the button on floating menu.

This issue appears since a few BTT minor alpha update back, something like 4.68*, but I can't recall the exact version number.

Thanks again.

Would you be able to share the debug info (andreas@folivora.ai)? That should allow me to reproduce it

Sent.

Ah you have configured the snapping actions to use the "window under the cursor" - which in this case would be the floating window. Instead you should set it to use the "focused window".

If you need more control over this you'd need to use the predefined action "Custom Move / Resize" instead

Thanks very much! It works after the change.
However, I have been using the actions for the last few months with no problem. And as far as I can recall, I have never used/config Moving & Resizing Modifier... Perhaps the default option has changed in the more recent update? Or perhaps I changed it without knowing it.

I just checked but the default value is still "focused window". Maybe you imported some preset that did replace this setting?

Thanks! Now I know where to look into when issue happens again.

Not sure if this is related at all, but I noticed that all of my window snapping still works (via dragging the window or keyboard shortcuts, although now it leaves a little "margin" around the window. I presume this is due to the new macOS release today, so not sure there's anything that can be done about it. I'll probably get used to it regardless.
