Sometimes, I use cmd+ctrl+shift+4 to screenshot to system clipboard, but it failed nothing copied to clipboard. I'm not sure if it is caused by BTT, but if I close BTT, it works for everything.
It's same situation happened if I use cleanshot to OCR the text to clipboard, the notification showed it copied to clipboard, but actually not. If close BTT, it works again.
I checked my preset in BTT, nothing found. Could you teach me how to find what the problem is?
unfortunately I have not encountered similar (although using screenshot to clipboard at least 10 times per hour). So I really have no idea. Maybe check whether anything shows up in "Recently used" in BTT when that happens.
I had a similar problem. Screenshots could (often) not be copied with cmd+c. I simply set up the global shortcut cmd+c = cmd+c in BTT.
I have no idea what difference this is supposed to make, but this way it works here.
speaking of Clipboard issues....I have been experiencing issue when trying to paste/insert top item or any clipboard item by pressing ENTER key,double clicking, or pressing shortcut for clipboard to paste. Issue occurs on FAVORITES/STARRED list. When i press enter it pastes the 1st entry in clipboard not the 1st entry of the starred clipboard entries which is showing. This used to work no problem. Also there are issues with the editing toolbar getting mashed up when toggling off and not using both sidebars-it creates a mess up top. Note that this is occurring on Mac OS Sequoia Developer Beta 3.
...also expericing issue in post above by Frank regarding the copying entry with cmd+c not working, i have to use content menu and select just copy. I will try setting up a shortcut like he noted, but it says on menu the shortcut so should work and have setup shortcuts in clipboard. Ill see whats up.
you mean 15.6 beta 3? (that seems to work fine here on 15.5 with BTT 5.538 alpha)

Possible. Do you see a difference whether I press cmd+c (without BTT) or whether BTT feeds the clipboard with cmd+c = cmd+c?
do you mean in general when pressing cmd+c on macOS or while inside some BTT window?
The only difference for general macOS usage should be that setting it up like this removes the "key repeat" from the shortcut.
I mean above all what is described below. Somehow this problem has never been fully resolved, even though I believed it was in the beginning.
Only since I set up this cmd+c thing the problem disappeared for me. No idea if this is a coincidence.
In that post it specifically relates to the screenshot editor window, did this also occur in other situations? (otherwise it's probably a bug in that window)
If I remember correctly, in my case it only happened with screenshot.
Could you check whether the menubar shows BetterTouchTool if that screenshot window is opened for you? (On macOS these shortcuts are triggered through the menubar, which can be a bit tricky in case of BTT because it doesn't have a Dock icon)). If so does the Edit menu have the "Copy" option available?
Ah interesting. This is BTT's fallback menu, which should not show in this scenario.
(unfortunately macOS doesn't really allow non-Dock apps to have menubars, which is why BTT uses some tricky to achieve this. Are you still on macOS 12/13 or did you upgrade by now 
?

13 will continue to work until at least end of 2026 
However some upcoming features might require newer versions soon.
I use Pasteboard Viewer to investigate what's happening in the clipboard.
If use BTT, if there is "org.nspasteboard.TransientType" in the list, the value of which is "BTT", the screenshot cannot be copied to system clipboard (just got a flash in the Pasteboard Viewer, nothing happened), but it is not always happened, 80% possible happened.
If close BTT, "org.nspasteboard.TransientType" in the list never appeared, everything works.
If I make a screenshot on other app except for "zotero", everything works. So I decide to delete all the "zotero" preset in BTT, which I guess it's no relationship with clipboard at all:
Magic mouse: two fingers swipe left/right to stimulate "up"/"down" key (because it is zotero page up/down default key)
Fortunately, it works now.
I don't know why it works, I will follow up if problem happens again in future, but if it's a bug please fix it.
That means you are using some function in BTT that either sets the clipboard content or tries to paste the content as string. Do you have any presets imported in BTT?
Best check BTT's "Recently Used" section. It should show what action is run.

I double checked "recently used", no have any action added.
I have a new finding:
I create a new trigger including "History Clipboard manager", when I select any text in Zotero, there will be selection text in BTT history clipboard manager, but the selection text is not copied into system clipboard (using cmd+V to tried, the selected text is unable to be pasted correctly).
If change to other APP to be tried in same situation, as far as I know, the selected text not be tracked by BTT history clipboard manager.

do you maybe have a text-selection did change trigger configured in BTT?
It‘s also possible Zotero temporarily copies to the clipboard and clears it afterwards.
If I use Default preset in place of my own preset, or if I close BTT completely, selection in Zotero will not have any action on system clipboard, so I think Zotero is not doing temporarily copy to clipboard. I think my preset has problem, so I delete all triggers to test. But still have problem. The rest possibility is BTT setting causing problem?
