Mac Clipboard not work sometimes when I launch BTT

In Console.app, findings below for your reference, but why there is floating menu message there?

I do another test, is there any BUG there? I have uploaded a video, please check attachment

As you can see in your clipboard viewer these are marked transient types, meaning the app (here apparently Edge) copies something for internal use. These are usually automatically cleared from the system clipboard immediately. By default BTT also doesn't record such transient clips - only if enabled here:

The system logs just show that BTT is checking what has been copied.

May I ask if I do not use Clipboard manager as action anywhere in preset, BTT doesn't do anything to track system clipboard as history record? Because I never use it before, but when I use today I can see history record in it. How can these clipboard be recorded without using clipboard manager as action?

BTT only monitors the clipboard if at least one clipboard widget or clipboard manager action has been configured or if BTT scripting functions to access the clipboard are used.
By default it does not monitor anything about the clipboard.

With a clean preset, if just only adding "Text Selection Did Change" without adding any action, select text in Zotero will trigger system clipboard.

in some apps to get the selected text it needs to be copied to the clipboard - but this is not related to BTT‘s clipboard manager. However it should not stay in the system clipboard

If it does, try upgrading to one of the current alpha versions. The clipboard restoration has been improved for some apps

It works now in Alpha version now! Thanks for your advice!

So strange, you can see in the attached video, I don't open the clipboard manager or widget, just copy any text, BTT trigger the system clipboard, why?

And afterwards, I opened the clipboard manager, copy text, there will be new record in history and in console at the same time. It means BTT still monitor system clipboard any time? (I do close any clipboard related action), am I missing something?

as mentioned, this is because of the text selection did change trigger. If you delete that, BTT won’t react to your selection changes.

I try screenshot instead of text selection, but still have problem.
Then I delete "text selection did change trigger" completely, but still have NSPasteboard log if copy any text.

after changes that affect clipboard or text selection you might need to restart BetterTouchTool for the changes to take effect

However these logs are pretty new in macOS, possibly they are also triggered by something else in BTT.

Actually now I delete all triggers and restart BTT to test, still same. A little bit frustrate. The reason why today I try again is sometimes I screenshot to clipboard, I found it doesn't work until I try 2-3 times then success.

Could you please look into it because it is maybe not only a clipboard related bug but also a privacy safety issue that I don't hope any function of BTT is automatically triggered to track or control system clipboard if I don't add any clipboard related action.

I just checked, but there are no logs for default BTT configurations. Must be some action or trigger, if you want you can go to help -> export diagnostic debug information and send the result to me (andrea@folivora.ai), then I can check what triggers this!

In general these logs are for a soon to be released macOS feature that will allow you to control pasteboard acces in System Settings -> Security & Privacy. Currently any app can access your clipboard even without triggering such logs

Ok, I have sent email to you, please check.

Hi Andreas, how about checking my attachment in the email?

sorry not yet, I'll get to it later this week!
