Licaevey Bluetooth Control Knob with BT

Looking to get a Bluetooth Controller knob to control media playback - volume, play/paise, next and back.
This one from Licaevy on Amazon seems cool Amazon.com: LICAEVEY Customizable RGB Media Controller Knob, Dual Rotary Dials for Volume & Page Turning, 2.4G BT USB C Programmable Shortcut Device for PC Tablet : Musical Instruments
The SW is not MacOS compatible and based on the horrible description and limited reviews seems like you need that to use the second dial.
Do you think BetterTocuch could capture the actions and then map custom commands?

That's a pretty cool looking device.
For what it is worth, I have an ancient Griffin PowerMate that does work with BTT, using the BTT Generic Device support. This requires that you are willing to write some code to grab events coming from the device and to trigger events. I suggest that you look at the docs for Generic Devices: Generic Devices | BetterTouchTool Documentation

Caveat, some devices apparently don't fully show up in the Generic Devices event panel, so no idea if this will work.

And a further thought: Now that Andreas is adding support for other Macro Pads, you can get 3 or more knobs plus some OLED buttons for about twice the cost of the Licaevy device, so at least consider that option. (But note that Andreas is still working on this!)

Brilliant!!!! I’m ordering the device now and will give it a go. Of course If it works I will share my findings

When you get it, take a look at the sample code for the Griffin PowerMate, as you'll want to do something very similar.

As for sending events to the device to set the LCD operation, you'll need to figure out what data to send to the device. Once you know what you need to send, then take a look at these two posts:

If you need more advice at that point in how to send data to the device, come back and post here and I may be able to assist. :slightly_smiling_face:
