How to use the "Reset Floating Menu / Item Properties" command?

Hi,
I set up a floating menu, and on "hover end," I had the command update menu item. I always added that and changed the icon color to what it was. But I just remembered that there is also a reset command that can be used to reset the icon.

But I now have an issue with it. Because I'm using a circular menu, and when I use the reset command on a sub-menu, it is no longer a circle, and even when I change it back to the update command, it still stays as a square with rounded corners.

I also found that when you use the reset command on regular items, the color change on hover is not as smooth as when you use the update command.

Can you explain the right way to use the reset command?
Thanks

I found some potential issues with the reset action and resolved them in 4.922, however I'm not sure whether this also has an effect on your issue. If this doesn't help, would you be able to share your menu?

I tried it out, but now there is some delay in the animations on the hover effects.
I have no idea what is going on.
Here is my floating menu if you want to check it out yourself.

I think it should work again with 4.925 (uploading)! Your menu looks really nice.

Thank you very much. I very appreciate that.
I just installed it, and the delay is gone, but when you click on the gear icon, you will see that the menu is no longer circular, as it should be. It is instead a square with rounded corners. This happened after adding the reset command to the hover end.
Any idea why that is?

ah now I see what you mean!
I'll look into that tomorrow, I think there might be something weird that is not shown properly in the config - maybe some weird copy & paste corruption.

Yeah, that would be great.
Thanks again

as a quick fix:
it seems to work if you copy & paste that gear icon and delete the original one. (However there seem to be some more weird things with that item. Going to sleep now

 ok that was weird.

Ps. It would be nice if you could create folders and separators in every category. I think the floating menu section needs that the most.

you can add separators via the edit menu:

Folders however won't be possible for floating menus, at least not until I make some major changes.

Ah ok. I think the separators are good enough for me for now.
Thanks very much

I think I was too fast saying that it works. After copying and pasting it in and deleting the original, the menu is again back to its circular form, but the hover no longer works because the UUID of the button has changed. And when you paste the new UUID in, it turns it back to a square.

Ah that might help me figure out what's wrong, thanks! Looking into it now.
In general you don't need to enter a uuid if you want to reset the item/menu that the action is assigned to.

Oh, I don't need to enter the UUID? I thought otherwise it won't work right.
And what, when you have multiple elements, that have to change color at the same time?

Yep with recent versions, the UUID is only needed when resetting / updating a different item/menu. I'll make that more clear soon.

The issue should now be fixed in 4.926 (uploading)!

I just installed the update, and the issue seems to have been fixed.
Thanks

Ps. I don't know if that is just me, but to me, it seems that the hover effect on the items with the update command is a bit smoother than the hover effect on those with the reset command. Could that be, or is it just me seeing it differently?

Mhh unless you are using the "animate" option here, it should make a difference, but I'll check - maybe there are some implicit animations:

No, this option is not activated at my end.
