Floating menus background

Just updated to 6.183 a couple of days ago. I have floating menu items that I’ve set to “light up” white with blue border (from different shades of grey) when cursor is hovered but now won’t work unless I close the menu then reopen it. Doesn’t happen on all floating menus, though. And clicking on an item in a menu still works.

Also have had issues with lag times in the past couple of updates but now seems to be even worse. Used to be about 3 seconds from clicking on an item before it would highlight or open but now is more like 5 seconds or sometimes more. No unusual CPU usage, still have a little more than 215 GB free on the hard disc, and all systems are up to date. Running MacBook Pro 16” 2019 (Intel T2) on OS 26.2.

Any suggestions are helpful. The “lighting up” issue is not a huge deal but the lag times are.

could you share a menu that reproduces this behavior? (either post here or send to andreas@folivora.ai)

You can export a specific menu by right -clicking it in the BTT configuration and choosing "export to file"

Do you have this option enabled?

I do have that option enabled but, even if I disable it, I get the same result. Most of my floating menus do this but not all and I’ve attached screen recordings and screenshots of those settings for one that works (“lights up” when hovered) and one that doesn’t.

Did some experimenting and found that there is only an issue with the background hovered colors of each individual item in the menu when it’s a circular menu. If I take a menu with items in rows or columns and change it to a circular menu, the hovered background colors of the items in that menu don’t change. Similarly, if I take a circular menu and change it to rows or columns, the background colors will change on hover.

Hmmmm, maybe my topics reported here BTT crashes within Floating Menu when using "Reset Floating Menu / Item Properties" - #3 by Volker are also only related to the Circular Menu - I will check later today.

I will also check, if your presets show the same behavior on my machine an keep you posted here.

Does anyone have any suggestions about a floating menu with a circular layout issue that I described previously? I also have one floating menu that I set up as a smaller floating menu (nested inside a larger one) to show when the cursor is hovered over the center item of the larger menu but the smaller menu won’t show until I close the whole thing then trigger it again.

I have not yet looked into this (it's on my todo list,I'll get to it next week), but there have been some fixes for floating menus in the latest alpha versions - possibly worth trying
