Inspired by this thread (Floating menus background - #5 by Volker) I did some more research and found out that the misbehavior with the action "Reset Floating Menu / Item Properties" can only be reproduced if you use a "Circular Layout" with the option "Allow Hover on Whole Pizza slice" active.
