Disable single finger scrolling not working

I am not able to disable vertical scrolling via BTT. The check box for verticall scrolling seems to have no effect.

UPDATE: It appears the HORIZONTAL scrolling does not work either at least i some applications (eg Yamaha DM7 Editor), BUT DOES get disabled in other applications (eg EazyDraw)

I have Use mouse for scrolling turned on in System Settings / Accessibility / Pointer Control / Mouse Options ...

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro 2015
  • macOS version: Sonoma 14..4.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4 472

I can report that this feature does not appear to work in any app I've tested on either of my devices: iMac 2017 on Sonoma 14.4.2; 2023 Macbook Pro M3 Sonoma 14.6

BetterTouchTool 4.596

I have activated the checkboxes for Magic Mouse > All Apps > Disable single finger vertical / horizontal scrolling, and then restarted. Single finger scrolling remails active and annoying.

Hi everyone,
I apologize in advance if my English is unclear — I’m not very fluent, but I’ll do my best to explain the issue accurately.

In several applications, the option “Disable Single Finger Scrolling (Magic Mouse)” does not seem to work.
Even when I enable this option in the per-application settings, vertical scrolling with a single finger is not disabled.

On the other hand, when I enable “Disable Single Finger Horizontal Scrolling (Magic Mouse)” in the same settings screen, horizontal scrolling is correctly disabled.

Currently, the only Magic Mouse gestures I have configured in BetterTouchTool are:
・For All Apps → 2 Finger Swipe Up (Mission Control)
・For All Apps → 2 Finger Swipe Down (Show Desktop)

Here is my setup where the issue occurs:
・MacBook Air (2020, M1)
・macOS 15.7.2 (Sequoia)
・Magic Mouse (1st Generation)
・BetterTouchTool (5.750)

For testing, I even performed a clean installation of macOS 15.7 (Sequoia) without using Time Machine, and only installed BetterTouchTool.
The issue could be reproduced in the default Preview.app, so I don’t believe this problem is specific to my macOS environment.

The applications where “Disable Single Finger Scrolling (Magic Mouse)” fails to work are mostly graphics-related. So far, I have confirmed it in:
・Preview (Apple)
・Pixelmator Pro (Apple)
・OmniGraffle (Omni Group)

As an additional note, if I enable “Disable Single Finger Scrolling (Magic Mouse)” both under “For All Apps” and again for the individual application (e.g., Preview.app), then single-finger scrolling is finally disabled.
(However, this also disables single-finger scrolling in Safari and other apps, so it’s not a practical solution.)

Could you please let me know if you have any insights or if there’s something I should check on my side?
I’d be happy to cooperate further and test anything you suggest.

I’d really like to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and I’d greatly appreciate your assistance.

Best regards,
Satoshi
