BTT interfering with Wacom scroll

Having mainly used my wacom tablet for Photoshop, I never really got round to using it for general OS navigation, but with concerns over RSI I thought I should give it a try.

I set the down button on my pen to scroll and tried it in chrome. Holding the button down and dragging gives me the expected result of scrolling down the page, however, when I try to scroll up, nothing.

Having spent far too long on Wacom support, and following their exhaustive list of things to try, it now seems something in BTT is causing my issue.

I came on here and found another post:
BTT not playing nice with Wacom tablet and Photoshop

in which the poster managed to sort his problem.

Given my problem is with the general use of my wacom outside of Photoshop, could you suggest a fix, please?

I'm on Sonoma 14.2.1 and the tablet is an intuos pro medium with the reinstalled latest wacom driver: WacomTablet_6.4.7-2.dmg

I followed all their troubleshooting but it was only when I setup a new user and went into that account that it worked properly.

Coming back to my main account and after reading the above post, I tried quitting BTT and normal service was resumed.

Is there anything I can change in BTT to fix this or is there a bug?

I'm on BetterTouchTool Version: 4.701

Many thanks!

unfortunately there might not be much you can do. Possibly their software is using same techniques as BTT is somehow running into compatibility issues.

You could try enabling this option in BTT:

But I don't know whether it will help. I currently don't have a wacom tablet anymore ;-(

Thanks for the reply but I already tried that option :frowning:

Is there a way to set a keystroke (or two) to toggle BTT off for a moment?

Hi again,

I ended up contacting Wacom again and they said they'd look at it.

However....
I've just realised my regular mouse scroll wheel is exhibiting exactly the same behaviour - as in I can use it to scroll down a page but not up.

This makes me think it isn't an issue with Wacom after all.

Any chance we could look into this further?

Many Thanks

Craig.

Actually, forget that last comment!

I suddenly thought to look at my normal mouse preferences in BTT and found an incomplete action attached to my scroll wheel on my normal mouse.

I deleted it and now my mouse and my Wacom pen are working great!

Sorry for all the confusion!!!

Many Thanks!

ahh I should have thought about the obvious. It’s just that there actually have been issues with wacom conflicts in the past, so I just assumed it was similar again.

Glad you figured this out
