Auto-copying without any command trigger

Hello.

I'm experiencing an issue related to the automatic copying of text or images in some specific conditions, which has been disrupting my daily workflow for months.

Since it seemed to be related to automatically copying certain items, I initially suspected clipboard manager apps, which in my case, is Paste. To make a long story short, I've been trying to identify the potential cause of this conflict for a long time, and today, by chance, I discovered that it was BTT, because I had already tried closing apps and even uninstalling them without any success, but when I closed BTT, the problem stopped.

I ended up investigating more thoroughly because in recent days I've been forced to use the two applications that manifest the issue frequently: VS Code and CleanShot X.

Before, I even contacted the CleanShot X team, who informed me that they had not received any reports of similar problems from their users.

When searching the internet, I noticed that another user was experiencing the same issue in one of the applications I mentioned, VS Code ("Text Selection Did Change" Trigger Causes Auto-Copy in VSCode). However, it seems that they couldn't identify the problem or reach a solution.

In VS Code, the problem occurs in the exact same way as the other user reported: I select some text, and it's automatically copied.

In CleanShot X, when trying to select an area to capture, even before I can select the capture mode, the area is automatically copied, interrupting the use of the app.

I suspect the problem may occur in other apps and in different contexts because, at times, the Mac emits the sound of copying something (generated by my clipboard manager) without anything actually being copied (because nothing was selected).

I would really appreciate it if someone could help with this issue, as I completely depend on BTT in my daily workflow.

Thank you,

auto copy is necessary for the text selection did change trigger, however in some apps the clipboard did not correctly restore it's previous contents automatically.
I think this is already resolved in the current alpha releases.

Thank you very much for the quick response, Andreas.

I didn't think there could be interference from "text selection did change" because I only used it in Obsidian and PDF Expert, and in the latter, I couldn't get it to work (apparently the text wasn't recognized because it was a PDF or something).

I tested disabling the two triggers that were only active for Obsidian, and the problem really did stop occurring.

I also just tried restricting the activation of these triggers through "Advanced Conditions" to reinforce that the activation could only occur in Obsidian, and although it correctly demonstrates in the conditions window as "Currently True" only in Obsidian, the problem persists in the other applications I mentioned earlier.

For now, the only way to solve this would be to disable these triggers and/or use the Alpha release?

I'm not an advanced user, so I don't usually install Alpha or Beta versions because I run the risk of not being able to solve any eventual bug. Is there any estimate for when you plan to release this version to regular users?

Thanks again.
