with the most recent apple OS update, sending keystrokes to applications on another space no longer work

Describe the bug
Keyboard action (in my case F19, though it happens with other keys as well) sends "space" to spotify app.
Prior to the most recent mac update, I could press this and spotify would play or pause, regardless of which macos space I was on. Now it only works when spotify is on the current space.

Update: after further testing, this may be limited to spotify. I changed the shortcut to send space to textedit, and it seems to work fine. Feel free to ignore/close this if it's a spotify-only issue.

  • macOS version: Sequoia 15.4.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 5.398 (was previously on 5.295 when I first experienced the issue)
