These last two weeks have been a real with my BTT automations.
I had mentioned that a large number of my left click and right click actions stopped working consistently. They were working beautifully for many, many months.
Then, I update to 4.936 and several dozen Wait for Image to Become Visible actions stop working properly. What was working at 99% find rate comes back with 50%. I try turning off color, changing where it searches -- 50% come back IMAGE NOT FOUND. No change to the graphics on screen except in one case.
The only solution is to take new screenshots and replace... over and over.
Is this a sign of a form of corruption?
If so, what is the remediation? Recreate the trigger from scratch? My whole database?
There was one bugfix somewhere around 4.936, previously BTT didn't choose the correct image for dark mode when such an image was defined (it always defaulted to light)
However this only applies if the "Use Different Image If Dark Mode Is Active" is activated. It will now use the image defined for dark mode if dark mode is active. Maybe you had this option active but not configured with the images you'd like to search?
Meanwhile, is it proper to assume that using the "Choose Area of Screen" method of grabbing the image that will be used to match, on screen, is superior to other screenshot methods in terms of rate of success?
it‘s the best, yes. However with current BTT versions just taking a screenshot of the area and using that will also be fine and should result in a 99% match unless there is a lot of transparency effects
with my BTT automations.
