And you are right, left/right ctrl + letter is a fantastic addition to set up shortcuts.
Very natural for the left hand, thumb and index finger.
I explained to you how to turn caps lock to right control and you showed me how to use both control keys together. We are a good team 
Agreed - although I manipulate my hand differently because my eager pinky finger feels left out otherwise 
. (I've also swapped fn and left control to match with the layout of a logitech bluetooth keyboard I use frequently - that was why I still had the hidutil hack in my head earlier).
The display issue should be fixed in 3.977 alpha (uploading now)

I've tried updating a few times now via the "Check for Alpha Version Updates" but it keeps telling me there's none available? I've attempted from both 3.971 and 3.952 with the same result
