Using BetterTouchTool prevents keys from being used in Photoshop.

Note:
Before bug reporting, please make sure you have tried the latest (alpha) version of BetterTouchTool and that you have already tried to restart your system :-). If you encounter a crash, please attach a crash log from the macOS Console.app's "Crash Reports" section.

Describe the bug
Whenever I start BetterTouchTool (which I think is fantastic), and I start Photoshop, when you open a file, you are not able to access any of the tools in the Photoshop UI. The only thing that appears in the UI is a hand, which would seem like it's a space bar feature. I've tried clearing out menus, and was able to confirm that when I stop using the BetterTouchTool, all of the keyboard switching functionality in Photoshop returns.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Screenshots
Unfortunately, I can't take a screenshot of the Photoshop interface with the hand tool because the Mac does not allow you to see the hand tool on the screenshot.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: m1 max
  • macOS version: tahoe
  • BetterTouchTool version: 6.011

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

Thought it helpful to report that I am able to use Photoshop without issue while BetterTouchTool is running. That might help narrow where to look for the issue.

I can open and edit files in Photoshop. I can open and edit files sent from Lightroom Classic.

System:

  • MacBook Pro M4
  • Tahoe 26.2
  • BetterTouchTool alpha 6.101 (just now)
  • Adobe Photoshop 2026 27.2

Thanks for that. I'm gonna go do updates on everything just to make sure.
