Unable to have enter key be part of Type Custom Text using Insert Text by Typing

When using a keyboard shortcut to "Type Custom Text" and having the method as "Insert Text by Typing" I cannot have the enter key used in the typed text, it shows the the carriage return in the BTT UI. when I hit the shortcut key it simply doesn't insert a carriage return, all the text just runs together.

It works when the method is "Insert Text by Pasting".

Device information:

  • macOS version: 10.15.4

If you assign this to a keyboard shortcut, the system will include the currently pressed modifier keys while BTT "types". This means that return might e.g. become cmd+return.

You can use this with fn or option based shortcuts, but cmd, ctrl and shift often cause issues.

That was it. Thanks. I assigned it to a shortcut using only Option ⌥ and it worked.
