Describe the bug
I have set a keyboard shortcut for fn + K to "Keyboard Illumination Up" in order to increase keyboard backlight brightness however for some reason it does not seem to be working.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac:Macbook Air M3
  • macOS version: Sequoia 15.4
  • BetterTouchTool version: 5.296

That looks weird, can you change the keyboard brightness in system settings?

I am terribly sorry that I did not know that my keyboard illumination settings could be turned off in the settings. It was like that by default. The issue is resolved and it may now be closed. Let this serve as future references for other people people with same issues. I am attaching screenshots for both the situations.
