UI issues on Sequoia after UI rewrite (sidebar, trigger section bar, trigger column)

Some issues after the UI rewrite (with BTT 6.189 and macOS 15.7.3):

  1. At the default/minimum sidebar size, the window control buttons overflow the sidebar (see picture 1).
  2. If you increase the sidebar width manually so the window buttons do not overflow, there is a lot of whitespace next to the icons (see picture 2).
  3. The sidebar width is not retained when closing and reopening BTT – it always reverts to the default = minimum size (which exacerbates issue 1).
  4. The “App Sidebar Min Width” setting does not appear to have any effect whatsoever.
  5. The “>>>” button to expand the sidebar to include app names is apparently gone…?
  6. The icons in the trigger section bar have become considerably smaller, which makes it considerably harder to use them (compare picture 1 with picture 3, which shows the size before the UI rewrite).
  7. The trigger column unexpectedly increases its width whenever an app/trigger section with no triggers is selected and one then switches back to an app/trigger section with triggers, rendering the action column very narrow. (See last three pictures in sequence. Column width defaults in Settings not changed.)

As for 1, I’m not sure how this looks on Tahoe, but at least on Sequoia a wider default sidebar width would seem preferable. Or at least 3 and 4 should be fixed.

As for 2, I think I’d prefer if the app icons enlarged slightly in response to increasing the sidebar width.

As an aside, I have no idea what the “❮” icon to the right of the window controls is supposed to be…? If I click it, it turns gray(er) but does nothing…

Ah the sidebar should definitely restore its width, that is a bug I probably introduced yesterday.

For the rest I'm considering various options, this will improve with the upcoming versions (for now I just had to quickly move away from Storyboards because Xcode continuously crashed while using them making it impossible to work).

side bar not saving width should be resolved again in b6.193

I don’t see a change unfortunately. Increase sidebar width from default/min, close BTT window, open BTT window, and it is at default/min again.
