Trigger refresh of Apple Script Menu Bar Item

Is there any way to refresh a Menubar Item (the one named Apple/Java Script Menu Bar Icon)?

Those items have a refresh frequency field, but I don't want to rely my refresh process on a duration. I want to refresh it by calling some Apple Script. Basically, I’d like the exact same behavior as with Touch Bar refresh_widget command. I've tried this command with my Menubar Item but it doesn't seem to work.

Is it supported?

refresh_widget should now be working in 4.068 alpha (uploading, will be online in 10 minutes)
