Would it be possible to have touchpad as a modifier key? Maybe just single finger click, maybe even click with multiple fingers. I would really like to be able to do click+key as keyboard shortcut then juggle with alt-shift-cmd something.
You could use the Advanced Conditions.

yes there are many advanced trigger conditions you can use for this!

Similar how you have use option, shift or command key as modifiers I would like to use one finger on touchpad + key 1 for specific action for my host 1, touchpad + key 2 for host 2 and similar. So basically have touchpad as additional modifier key.
