Sometime recently, I started wondering why the expected result wasn't showing up in the Launcher unless I typed several characters, whereas before it usually was the top result.
Today I noticed that it actually is the top result, but it's just hidden/scrolled out of view. It happens whether the app is running or not.
I've tried it with several other letters now, and every time the expected top result is scrolled out of view.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: Currently on BTT 6.982, macOS 27.2...but missing the top result has been going on for a wee or more I think. I just figured out what was happening today.
Is your launcher set to show nothing by default? (So it only shows results when you start typing?)
Yes, it doesn't show anything until I start typing.
It looks like it's happening when there's just 1 letter. At 2 letters, the top result is the top of thew view.
I think then I can see the issue, however I guess it has always been there

I don't remember noticing any issues until recently...I just felt like I had to type more (sometimes up to 3-5 characters for certain things where I previously only needed one).
I figured there might have been some changes to whatever algorithm that would eventually get worked out. Today I decided to play around to see what might be going on.
I think the issue is caused by the expanding animation that goes from the compact view to showing the list. The list view doesn't automatically adjust during that animation causing this issue.
If the list is always visible the issue does not occur.
BTW, the whole thing made me decide to compare it with Spotlight again, which I hadn't used since BTT's launcher came out. But its results were far from desirable, even on macOS 27. BTT's launcher is much better in every way! Thanks for such a useful addition.

FWIW, I happened to be doing something on my Intel MBP this afternoon, which was still running BTT 6.746 (2026082104) on Tahoe, and the top result was still in view with 1 character immediately without scrolling. So something must have changed since August at least.
It's good to know I wasn't hallucinating not needing to type as much before. 
it is quite possible Tahoe behaves slightly differently than Golden Gate. It was a pretty subtle timing issue, so small changes in the underlying frameworks could affect this. But I think now it should be ok on any system.
That makes sense. It probably started happening when I updated my current machine to Golden Gate then (incidentally, I skipped Tahoe completely on this one).
