Hello

There is a problem with this function. I use it in Safari for quick open link in new tab. But it only works after second Tap.
So, to open link in new tab I have To Tip-Tap-Tap
P.S Using built-in touchpad

Please fix it.

for tiptaps make sure to remove all fingers before touching the trackpad.

  1. start with 0 fingers on the trackpad
  2. put one finger on the trackpad (usually the middle finger)
  3. immediately tap (touch & release) a second finger left or right of the finger from step 2

I just tried that, but it doesn't help.

Sometimes (about 1 from 5-8 tries) it works, but mostly it doesn't.

Using the same functionality for years in 'Multitouch" App works 100% correctly.
I want to switch from Multitouch to BTT as BTT has much more better options, but I cannot due to problems with taps.

Multitouch is most likely using very different implementation of TipTaps.
BTT's might give more priority to preventing accidental TipTaps than Multitouch does - but I have been using BTT's TipTaps for 15 years now without issues. It probably depends a lot on what one is used to.

Or could it be something else? Maybe have a look at BTT's live view (View => Show Live View) to see whether there are any accidental inputs that BTT might filter differently than Multitouch does.

I recorded how I do this. It is little differs from how I use TipTap (and how it works Multitouch):

0:00-0:12 - show how I do it and nothing happens
0:13-0:19 - how I have to do to open new link (double tap with right finger)

I see. The problem is in BTT tip taps do not allow to move the finger after the initial touch to prevent accidental triggers. In your example the first finger is always moving before the next finger taps.

Maybe I can add an option to allow this - for me it always caused too many accidental triggers.

Thanks! Now ot works as expected :slightly_smiling_face:

Just one thing noticed, when adjusting tiptap sensitivity the number is very big. Dunno if it's okay or not

Yeah I should cut it off, it's only a UI issue though :wink:

Hi

Unfortunately sometimes it stops working. Starting from I need again tap twice till it stops working at all.
I tried to upgrade to latest alpha 4.8959, but doesn't help
