I'm adding key sequences that I use often because they're very easy to execute. Don't forget to set up Cmd + Space does nothing, in the shortcuts section.
l cmd + Space
l cmd + Space + Space
l cmd + Space (press and hold until the action happens)
l cmd + r cmd
The preset also includes the reverse. So all KS that start with r cmd.
Please note that your name is immortalized as a visual separator in my version of BTT.
I made a small correction on my mac because I was repeatedly making mistakes by confusing between the paragraph number and the instructions. It is not surprising because my wife says that I am not very intelligent.
For example:
2 short tap ... just means short tap ..., not two (zweimail) short taps. To clarify the instructions (for me), I replaced 2 with 2- , und so weiter (I learned german in school).
I was wondering if you mastered a method to remember which series of actions are assigned to those triggers (open a file, web site, execute AppleScript, execute KBM macro via shell script etc etc etc
I am curious to ask, if it is not indiscreet, if you end up using more Keyboard Maestro palettes or BTT floating menus.
Lucas222, please stop with these exaggerations. You don’t have to do that for me to help you if I know something, and I definitely don’t need that to boost my ego, okay?
Regarding your questions: No, I don’t use floating menus anymore, nor do I use KM palettes.
All the different functions of the modifiers have grown “organically” over the last years. That means my central nervous system (or whatever) knows them without me having to think about it.
For triggers I don’t need that often, I make extensive use of BTT lists. It’s a great tool for displaying almost all triggers (like in a floating menu) or searching for them by name when necessary.
Recently the BTT Launcher was added. I’m not sure yet if and how I’ll use it. But it’s a very powerful tool that’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of software like Alfred, which I never was
I am trying to create a chart displaying key sequence + note (my description of what the trigger does) which I think is essential with Key Sequences
example : r^r^ open weather in chrome
I notice in your Key Sequence that you check "show notes" which unfortunately does not display the key sequence. If I uncheck Show Notes , the note display is too small to read easily. If I look at the cheatsheet, some fonts are large, some medium and some microscopic which makes for unpleasant reading.
So basically I am trying to find a nice display of trigger (key sequence of other) on the left and Note on the right.
I have been using your preset, and to be sure I don't make a mistake, first duplicate your trigger and than configure for my own use.
My experience has been that there are too many errors when I use both triggers below. I spent quite some time working on the tap speed to no avail. Model -1- very short tap (down/up) works perfectly. The problem is with tap -2- which often either triggers -1- or nothing. If you have the same issue, it may be a question of reviewing the pauses in model -2- ?
