Andreas - I have been using Better Touch Tool for more years than I care to remember. I make extensive use of it to enable a large variety of shortcuts and workflows. It is remarkable software. The number of functions available is astounding, such as triggers of all sorts, a cornucopia of useful actions, AppleScript and JavaScript availability, custom contextual menus (a personal favorite) and the list goes on. I know of no other software that provides what it does.
The fact that you basically give the software away free of charge makes it all the more remarkable.
Today as I was setting up something new with BTT it occurred to me how awful if it were not available. It also occurred to me to take a minute to let you know how much use I make of it and how grateful I am to you for making it available. I am sure many, many other users feel the same.
Regards - David Brown
Thank you!
However BTT hasn't been free for quite a while (the last free version is from early 2016)
Yes, but perhaps you missed that I said "basically free." To me the price seems very low for what one gets.
Yep, I hope the pricing is reasonable - glad you think so The problem with pricing BTT is that many users only use some few functions (which is absolutely fine). For these users the lifetime license is already not super cheap.
Andreas, if someone uses a few gestures, a few shortcuts, a few key sequences and perhaps a floating menu, the purchase of BTT is already more than worth it.
And why should buying what is probably the best app for the Mac be “super cheap”? Inexpensive is more than enough
Hehe, well I think the current pricing scheme is good for me and for users, so let's stick to it
Can you develop more ai presets? We need stronger gpt auxiliary functions. Too many functions have not been loaded, such as summarizing articles and so on.
I have also thought a lot of times that BTT has a low price.
Probably Andreas could raise a little bit the price without loosing customers.
But why raising the price if everything is going fine for him and for everybody for years?
I appreciate A LOT his approach to the pricing scheme.
Keep the price low. I buy BTT as a present for friends and colleagues. So it doesn't hurt me so much.
Yet, saying that, Andreas you could add an "Invite me for a Starbucks coffee" button. Their prices are so high that it doesn't feel like a charity compared for: if I would press "invite the developer for a cup of 99 cent coffee"
PS: Not that I recommended this stupid environment-damaging brand to anyone!
