Support for Logitech MX Master Mice

I don’t know why, but Button 6 (Gesture button hidden in the grip under the thumb) does not work on my MX Master 3S. BTT detects it, but any action assigned to it is not executed. Where could the problem be?

If BTT detects it, it should work fine. What actions have you tried to assign?

No action works. I tried various simple ones such as left click, the Cmd+C shortcut, launching an application, etc.

Does it show up in "Recently Used" section in BTT when you press the button?

@erishun thanks for reporting! I added some more led controls in 6.009 (uploading now):

I don't have your exact mouse model available for testing, so let's see whether that works!

No, Button 6 does not appear there, but the actions set for the other buttons are there.

Weird, I just tried again on all of my MX Mice ( MX4, MX 3 and MX 3S) but the button works on all of them.
Could you try to clean the BTT trash? I want to make sure no old setup is somehow interfering:

So I’ve already found the bug. The minimum holding time was set to 1 s. Really strange, because I definitely didn’t touch that setting. On top of that, I tried several times to delete the setting and recreate it. But after updating to the latest BTT alpha and setting it up again, the default minimum holding time is 0 again. So hopefully the problem is solved. :slightly_smiling_face:

downloaded the latest BTT. no luck unfortunately.

when i change the LED settings → LED effect mode/brightness and then click A”pply All Settings Now”, the mouse light immediately flashes white very quickly for about 2 seconds before reverting back to “crazy disco mode”.

i assume the flashing white is some kind of internal error code signal… if there are any logs/dump I can get you to help, please let me know!

These could help:

here you go! i clicked Apply All Settings Now a couple times after starting the LOG so hopefully the needed output is here. thank you again!

Thank you. I have added some experiments to 6.010, but I'll grab a G602 X Plus tomorrow and test here!

After yesterday’s alpha version updates, the functions for inverting the main and thumb scroll wheels stopped working on my MX3S. No matter what I do, nothing helps, not even restarting the system. BTT just follows whatever is set in macOS.

This also used to happen to me occasionally before, maybe once a week, when the settings would stop working. I fixed it by double-clicking Invert Main Scroll Wheel and Apple All Settings Now again. Now it doesn’t help.

I think the MX Master 3S did never support the thumb wheel invert, are you sure that worked for you? However you can invert it using a scroll modifier!

I didn’t even use thumb wheel invert before. I only tried it now to verify things when it stopped working on the main wheel.

I’ve now discovered a toggle in the main BTT settings called “Inverse scrolling for normal mice only (use system settings for Magic Mouse & Trackpads)”. That fixed the issue for me.

But it’s strange, I didn’t use this before and had it set only in Logitech Mouse Configuration.

Perhaps this has already been asked, but I have an MX Anywhere 3S, and I would like to configure the middle button. However, it is not recognized by BTT, and by default, it changes the behavior of the wheel. Is it possible to make this mouse compatible with BTT? It would be great if I could remove Logi Option + from my Mac

@Emm_Gr I think my wife has a MX Anywhere 3, I'll check it out this evening!

oh great amazing Thanks Andreas

Hmm, so the “Inverse scrolling for normal mice only” setting isn’t ideal either. Now I do have natural scrolling on the trackpad and classic scrolling on the main wheel, but my thumb wheel got inverted. Oh dear.

Have you, Andreas, made any changes in the last few days that could have caused this? I’m getting a bit desperate. I always find some workaround, but it ends up breaking something else. :slightly_smiling_face:

I don't think so, however I have figured out a way to allow inversing the thumb wheel on MX Master 3S, that is now included in 6.014 (uploading)

If you don't need this to be mouse specific, best just add a scroll modifier and configure it to your needs:

The macOS system scroll direction settings can also be confusing though - especially when combined with mouse specific scroll direction overrides
