Thanks for your awesome work on supporting these mice. I’ve played around with Smooth Scrolling but failed to find the right combination of settings to mimic the smooth scrolling I get from the app called “MOS”. I would love to use BBT for everything if anyone’s figured this out!
for me MOS didn't work well when I tried it. Are you missing anything specific or is it mostly the feeling?
I find it that it works better for small scroll movements, i.e. on the forums or Reddit. BBT feels like it’s lagging a bit if I just try to scroll just a little bit and slowly. Not sure if you can suggest any settings I can try? Also what kind work for you in MOS?
weird for me it was the opposite, especially for small scrolls in browser mos felt not accurate enough to me. Would be great if you could do a quick screen capture of scrolling in a browser with MOS then I can suggest some settings to achieve similar
Apologies for the late reply, yes sure, please see below, first video is with MOS, second is BTT. With MOS it feels like the first step is a big bigger (more pixels scrolled; maybe I’m just used to this since I have been using MOS). Is there any step equivalent setting in BBT.
Ah yes that was what I meant by not precise enough for me ![]()
I think you can solve this by adding a tick distance modifier before the smooth scroll:
I have not tried it yet, I'll be back in office on Monday to do some more tests with my mouse collection ![]()
Legend thanks, I will give it a go over the weekend and let you know how it goes!
UPDATE 1: Looks like that’s exactly what I needed, thanks a lot! I set it to 8 pixels per tick and it’s perfect for me!
UPDATE 2: It looks like scrolling doesn’t work in most emails at all, using the Apple Mail client. It’s mostly in newsletters. It works when over specific elements? But not everywhere.
Hmm, Looks like it’s not applying when going to deep sleep. Still takes ~7sec to reinstate the cursor speed/acceleration settings. Could the “Apply Settings Now” button be triggered by shortcut or “at wake up”?
@polemarxos you can try to disable "simulate trackpad phases". I think mail might not like that for some reason and in general it doesn't seem to bring many benefits in most apps.
Do you maybe have this option enabled? That would slow things down because it would cause BTT to restart first:
It was enabled, but even after unchecking it (And restart BTT) it still takes ~5-7sec for speed/acceleration settings to take effect (after sleep for a while, I’m guessing deep sleep) . Sometimes (rarely) it won’t even come back until “Apply All Settings Now” is pressed in config. In those cases no mouse appear selected in the pop-up (Using an MX3 currently).
Is there a way to capture log activity for coming back from sleep instances? Or any other setting you think could be interfering when waking up?
K.
Exciting news about Logitech mouse support! I’m looking forward to having it working.
I’m using MX Master 3 over an RF receiver, and BTT is saying “No Supported Mouse Recognized“. I’ve uninstalled Logitech Options (I’m on Options rather than Options+) and restarted the machine to no avail.
I’m on BTT 5.800 | 2025120205.
@DKroot does it work over bluetooth? ( you can try on a different connection slot, by switching using the button on the bottom of the mouse)
If it is also not recognized via Bluetooth it is most likely a permission issue. BTT should only need Accessibility permissions - but I'm not yet sure whether in some situations Bluetooth permissions are also required. You can try to quit BTT, then run this terminal command to reset all the permission prompts for BTT, then it will ask for everything required on next start:
sudo tccutil reset All com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool
I’m having the same problem that it takes a few seconds after waking up (with the restart setting deactivated). I’m still on 5.800 though, when I look for new updates it doesn’t show me 5.801 yet so K-Blanc might not be on this version either.
there was an unintentional delay of about 3 seconds due to some debouncing logic, that should now also be resolved in 5.803 alpha (uploading)
Apologies for the late response, this seems to have done the trick and, sure enough, I can’t find any difference with that mode on or off.
Thanks a lot, it really feels like I am not missing out on anything compared to my previous combination of Logi Options+ (for key bindings) and MOS (for smooth scrolling).
