Strange preset behavior

@Andreas_Hegenberg I try to do ... something. :innocent:

Anyway, I have a shortcut that turns the preset “Layer 1” (red label) on and off. That works. I can see in the preset menu how the box is checked or unchecked. But the action is not hidden, but still works or vice versa.

If I check or uncheck the box with the mouse, everything works as expected.

I think it's just that the UI doesn't reload when the toggle action is called (closing & reopening the ui should fix that)

I'll add an explicit refresh call

That's what I thought at first. But the action also works when the preset is deactivated or vice versa. It does not work if the preset is activated.

weird it seems to be fine here (the correct state is however only shown when closing and reopening the window)

I‘ll check with a more complex setup later

I use the shortcut fn+0 (but have also tried others) with this action

Ah, and don't forget, I use Ventura :upside_down_face:

With the mouse (instead of the shortcut) everything works as expected. Thank you.

and you are sure the fn+0 shortcut is in the layer 1 preset?

ah sorry, the Q one is the one that keeps working?

If “Layer 1” is activated, “q” shows a hud. If not, “q” is typed.

If the preset menu is open, I can see how fn + 0 checks the box or not. But this has no effect.

So q always shows a hud even if you toggled it off via fn+0?

Correct, if the preset is activated, the hud is always displayed. I cannot deactivate the preset with fn + 0. Although the preset menu shows that it is deactivated ... God this is complicated :slightly_smiling_face:

completely ignore the preset menu or any ui element that shows the active presets - they are currently not updated correctly via the action.
But if you close the BTT preferences window and press fn+0 your q key shows the HUD, and if you press fn+0 again the q key still shows the HUD?

Correct. The only way to deactivate the preset (the hud) is with the mouse in the menu.

weird that definitely works correctly here.

You are sure the Q is not duplicated in one of the other presets ? (check in the recently used section whether in both cases the same)

Is the FN+0 shortcut actually triggering (also check via recently used)

Ahhh, sorry, I could have come up with “Recently Used” myself. There I see that fn + 0 is an (unused but active) app specific shortcut that overrides the global one. Sorry about that.
