Spacebar stops working after Mac is on for a few days in a row.

After a multiple days of Mac being left on, the spacebar on the Magic Keyboard randomly stops working. This is for ALL uses of spacebar in ALL apps. ⌘Space for spotlight doesn't work, no other shortcuts using space work. Can't type space for text in any app, etc. Bluetooth re-pairing the keyboard doesn't work. Direct connect with USB-C doesn't work. Spacebar is just dead for every conceivable use of it.

Restarting the Mac or restarting BTT fixes it.

This happened on the version before 5.468 repeatedly. I just updated to 5.468 and have not had it in the last hour, but I didn't see anything in the release notes about this issue so I am reporting it here in case it ends up being useful. If/when it happens in 5.468 I will report again.

Encountering the same issue since the past few days.

  • I have created no new items since
  • I double checked no shortcut uses the spacebar
  • Im on version 6.0.11

I have done a pretty thorough review of various parts in BTT that could cause this. I have found one potential cause. Do you have any drawing/mouse gestures configured in BetterTouchTool? If so, hopefully >=6.175 will solve the issue.
