Snapping Windows not expanding edges of windows

When using edge snapping with BTT and running the latest version of both BTT and macOS Sequoia the windows are not snapping to the edges of the monitor. There is padding that is occurring that never occurred before. Not sure if this expected behavior and there is a setting I can adjust or if its a bug with macOS Sequoia.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro (14-inch, M2 Pro, 2023)
  • macOS version: macOS Sequoia 15.0
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4.699

by default BetterTouchTool now integrates with the native window resizing. Unfortunately for that it can not modify the margins, you need to manually disable them in System Settings => Desktop & Dock => Tiled windows have margins".

Alternatively you can change it in the BTT settings to "Use Classic BTT Window Resizing"

That was it! I turned off that setting and we are back to no padding. Thanks for the quick repose Andreas!

Thank you so much, this was driving me crazy ! :+1:

Idem.

Thanks!!
@Andreas_Hegenberg , i'd advise you to include this quick tutorial in a support window when people try to fix this by tweaking on BTT. It was super annoying and yet it took me more than a month to look it over.

Just here for the answer.

This was driving me nuts. Snapping and docking with Sequoia is a pleasure again. Problem solved. Now it goes all the way to the border. Window works.

Hope google ranks this answer higher going forward!

System Settings in MacOS Sonoma has no "Tiled windows have margins" option (or I don't find it), but I have a small margin between menubar and windows if I resize windows to 100% or 50%.

How do I fix this in Sonoma?

You mean this 1px margin? I think that is a limitation on macOS < 15, it seems to be gone on macOS 15.

If it's bigger than 1px, make sure there is no "empty space between window edges" configured here:

Yes, it seems 1 pixel. If I quit BTT the margin is still there.

There's nothing I could do to avoid this in Sonoma?

Yep, as far as I know there is nothing that can be done to fix this

Maybe I should move to Sequoia…

Is version 15.1.1 running well or should I wait to next releases?

I'd say it's running well, haven't encountered any issue that I didn't also have on macOS 14

I have done everything said above -

  • Tiled windows have margins - disabled, Hot corners not configured
  • Window snapping & moving settings - changed to "Use classic BetterTouchTool Resizing", Empty space between windows - 0 px, No padding if you maximize window - checked.

Restarted BTT. None of this is working and I still see spaces between tiled windows.

Mac OS Sequioa 15.2, Apple M1.
Mac OS Sequioa 15, Apple M1Pro

Both macs have exact same issue. Any help is much appreciated. It drives me nuts every single time.

most likely some other app or system feature interfering. Try to quit BTT and see whether you can still snap

Yeah. I was still able to snap when I quit BTT. then disabled everything related to window tiling in MACOS settings - Tiled window have margins, drag window to screen edges to tile etc.

Now I don't see any. Thanks.
