Snap without having to drag out of zone?

I used to use BetterSnapTool, but using BTT now as I have it thru SetApp.

In BST, I was able to snap a window back to the appropriate size, even if it started in the zone. I'd just have to hold shift, drag it a few pixels and it would snap.

With BTT, I have to drag the window out of the zone entirely and then back in to get it to snap.

For the life of me, I can't find the setting in BST that enabled/disabled this, or a similar option in BTT.

Help?

you can check this option (this is however a pretty special use case, are you sure this is how you like to use the snap areas?):
