Siri Remote - Repeat Assigned Action... Missing Option

Describe the bug
"Repeat assigned action while touching" is available for many of the buttons on the Siri Remote. This option is missing from others in my setup.

I have found 35 key press events, (not including multi-touch gestures.)

  • 8x Labeled buttons each having "Click" (Power, Play, Vol+, etc.)
  • 8x Labeled buttons each having "Click-Hold."
  • 5x 1-Finger-Click: Nav Arrows and Select.
  • 5x 1-Finger-Hold: Nav Arrows and Select.
  • 5x 1-Finger-Taps: Nav Arrows and Select.
  • 4x 1-Finger-Swipes: Up, Down. Left, Right.

Mic, Menu, TVScreen, Play, Vol(+), and Vol(-) do not have repeat for either Click or Click-Hold events. 1-Finger-Click (Select) is also missing repeat. Does enabling repeat on Click events disable Click-Hold events for buttons without touch sensor?

Affected input device:

  • Siri Remote

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: Mini M2
  • macOS version: Sonoma 14.3.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4.985

Unable to uncheck "Repeat..." when Rate or Delay have value other than 0.

Repeat is available for "1-Finger-Tap." It is seemingly impossible to actuate this event and hold a state that would allow repeat.

No.

You can configure a repetition after clicking a button-without-touch if you have one finger touching the pad area at the same time. As long as your finger is on the pad area, the repetition will be running.

The same for a click&hold trigger of a button-without-touch.

I did noticed that behavior from the buttons on the pad, but would not have ever thought it would apply to the others. Thanks.

Still looking for why some buttons don't have repeat. ( Especially VOL+/- )

Should all buttons on a Siri remote have the ability to repeat?

Yes, all have the ability to repeat.
