Shortcuts not working with fresh install?

I just got a new laptop and the first thing I installed was BTT. The problem is that none of my shortcuts work.

Things that didn't work:

  • adding shortcuts manually instead of importing them
  • reinstalled BTT
  • checked permissions (pretty sure I enabled all of them but is there somewhere I can find a list to be sure?)

Weirdly, if I downgraded to an old version of BTT (the latest version with my license), it worked. I thought it might be a license thing but why wouldn't the new trial work? The main things I want are keyboard shortcuts and trackpad shortcuts.

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this? Using my computer just isn't the same without what I made and have grown accustomed to. If there is any more information you guys need from me, I'll be happy to provide.

Old computer: MBP 15" TB 2019 Intel, Sonoma
New computer: MBA 13" 2024 Apple Silicon, Sonoma

that weird, are you sure BTT is not disabled? (click the menubar icon to check the state)

possibly something went wrong with some of the permissions, you could try to reset them all using this terminal command:

sudo tccutil reset All com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool

If you have not yet, also try to restart your Mac.

It is enabled :(. It is very strange only when I go back to old version that I am able to use any shortcuts. New version still allows me to snap windows by dragging to the sides but that is all.

Is there a way I can debug this? Could it be a permissions issue that I haven't enabled something?

Update: I had to delete my old license, it works now.
