First of all, thank you for creating such an amazing tool! I still can’t believe BTT is a one-time purchase – it’s truly an indispensable piece of software for me. While I’m already very satisfied with its functionality, I can’t help but wish for even more convenience. I hope you can forgive my curiosity!
Today, I would like to ask about an issue related to macOS 14 and later. Specifically, I am using macOS’s built-in screen sharing app in high-performance mode to control a Mac mini from my MacBook.
However, I have noticed that when I perform key operations remotely, BTT on the host Mac (Mac mini) does not seem to recognize the inputs. This reduces productivity when working remotely.
Is there any way to make BTT recognize key inputs even during remote connections through macOS screen sharing?
I have read through some older threads from around 2019, where it was mentioned that supporting remote desktop environments would be too costly and not feasible. I completely understand this.
However, since macOS 14’s high-performance mode for screen sharing behaves quite differently, I would appreciate it if you could consider revisiting this and possibly testing it again.
If direct support is still difficult, I would like to propose an alternative approach. It would be helpful if BTT on the host Mac could detect whether a remote connection is currently active. With such a feature, users could configure workflows that activate only during remote connections, allowing for greater flexibility through user customization.
I realized that there was a little lack of explanation. It is not actually recognized when you press the command key or option key alone. Alphabets, etc. are recognized without any problems.
