Question About Mouse Gesture Configuration with MX Master 3S and BetterTouchTool

Hi Guys,

I have a quick question. I've been using my MX Master 3S together with BetterTouchTool for quite some time and have created numerous shortcuts.

Is it possible to configure the mouse so that when I hold down Button 5 and move the mouse upward, the currently active window is maximized?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards, Jaki

yes you can use the discrete drag action trigger categories:

Hello Andreas,

Thank you very much for the quick response! It worked perfectly. :+1:t3:

However, I still have one issue, or rather a question regarding the implementation:

I would like the current window to be maximized when I press Mouse Button 5 and perform an upward swipe. If I hold down Mouse Button 5 and swipe to the left, the window should be snapped to the left half of the screen. Likewise, when I hold down Mouse Button 5 again and swipe to the right, the window should be snapped to the right half of the screen.

In principle, this is already working. The only problem is that when I press Mouse Button 5, a selection menu with the three actions first appears, and I then have to choose between them.

Is there a way to disable this selection menu so that the corresponding action is executed directly based on the swipe direction, allowing the whole process to work seamlessly?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards, Jaki

that happens if you have the button 5 configured multiple times. Instead make sure you only have it once but with multiple actions for different action trigger categories (all assigned to the same button)

No way, that’s awesome! I had no idea you could even do that :open_mouth: Now, it works perfectly

Thanks so much!

I have one more question: Would it be possible to add an additional trigger/action so that, while holding Mouse Button 5 and scrolling the mouse wheel downward, the window under the cursor is minimized?

yes, for that one you however need to create a new separate button + scroll trigger, record by clicking the button and scrolling here:

Amazing, it works! THANK YOU SO MUCH! :+1: :star_struck:

I have two more questions:

Question 1:
Is there a trigger that restores the default size of a Finder window? I mean the original window size that a folder has when it is opened for the first time after restarting the MacBook – so neither full-screen mode nor “Restore Previous Window Size.”

Example: I open a folder, and it initially appears in its default size. Then I snap the window to the left or right half of the screen or maximize it. Is there an action or trigger that allows me to reset the window back to its original default size?

Question 2:
If I minimize a window using a trigger (for example, Mouse Button 5 + scroll wheel down), can I later restore that same window to its previous position using another trigger (for example, Mouse Button 5 + scroll wheel up)?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
