Put computer to sleep when display is closed

I keep my macbook connected to a display, which prevents the computer from sleeping when the lid is closed. Is there a way to trigger the computer to go to sleep when the lid is closed?

I think the predefined action "sleep computer" should work even if a display is connected

How do I trigger that when the lid is closed?

You can use any of BTT's triggers and assign that action (keyboard shortcuts, gestures, mouse buttons etc.)

Oh I see. I was asking if there is a hook for "closing the lid". I guess the best option would be to manually use the keyboard shortcut every time, instead of closing the lid. Thanks for checking and thanks for this great app.

Ah good idea, I can add such a trigger as I'm monitoring the lid closing anyways.

Awesome, thank you! :fire: :fire: :fire:

Hi, this "Did close macbook lid" trigger is great... but it seldom works.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong:
I have my mac connected to a secondary screen.
I created an action that when I close the lid, it disables bluetooth and it sleeps the computer.
I close the lid.... and nothing happens. It worked once, but never again.
"Open the lid" does not execute actions either.
