Preview doesn't like BTT's applescript

Describe the bug
Preview seems to revoke BTT's applescript runner. My script seems to work fine in the applescript editor but not in BTT. It returns this message:

"Not authorised to send apple events to preview"

The script tries to get the name of the front window and decipher it, and that's it.

Affected input device: Touch Bar

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
  • macOS version: 10.14.4
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.201

these permissions are handled in system preferences -> security & privacy -> privacy-> automation

Apps can not influence this, the system will automatically add the apps that shall be controlled there. Make sure preview is enabled for BTT
