Pressing <return> key in Messages crashes BTT

Bug: Pressing crashes BTT after entering text in Messages.

Mac Pro (2013 Version)
MacOS v12.6.1 (21G211)
BBT v3.936(2101)

Input Device: USB Keyboard, MacOS Virtual On Screen Keyboard, and On Screen Keyboard on BTT Remote

Steps To Recreate:

  1. Open Messages on Mac
  2. Use physical keyboard attached to Mac, MacOS virtual keyboard, or On-Screen-Keyboard in BTT Remote to enter text in Messages
  3. Press using any keyboard in BTT

BTT crashes and restarts at this point. BTT Remote reconnects. Next time there is text to send and is pressed, BTT will crash again.

Expected Behavior: Should send message on first press of .

Fixes Attempted: Alpha version and system restart did not fix the problem.

Workaround: None found in 3 weeks of fiddling.

You seem to have a keyboard shortcut configured that triggers when pressing the return key. The problem is, you have configured it to trigger another return key in response. This will lead to an endless loop, crashing BTT. To prevent this check the "Prevent recursive triggers" checkbox on that shortcut:
