This should actually be easy. Either with the action “insert own text” or even easier:
But unfortunately, BTT doesn't do that. Is this a bug?
You are right, on my end it also works like this.

I suspect that BTT does not allow any further actions after the “Show list” action. It would be useful to change this, if possible. For other reasons as well.
If not, I suggest a very simple solution. A text field in the action that allows you to enter a prefix.

It does, but they are (intentionally) triggered after you select something from the list.
