Play/Pause Function not working with Spotify (MacBook Pro 2018)

Describe the bug

I have a new 2018 MacBook Pro 13" and I'm now setting up BTT on it. I thereby discovered that the Play/Pause function is not working with Spotify (nothing happens). With iTunes, VLC, or Youtube it's working fine.

Affected input device

MacBook Trackpad

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro 13" 2018
  • macOS version: 10.13.6 High Sierra
  • BetterTouchTool version: 2.536

Ignore my post. I found the solution. An App I have blocked the function.

Mind if I ask what app was catching it and how you figured it out? I'm having the same problem.

High Sierra Media Key Enabler was the culprit.

Heads up for anyone having the issue - another common culprit is the Google Play Music app/extension for Chrome.
