Permissions screen reappearing constantly

Describe the bug

I don't know what to do anymore.
The permissions screen is reappearing every time I wake my Macbook. I does not help to grand the permissions. Sometimes force-quit the application helps, most of the time I have to restart the laptop. And even then it reappears. While the window is up, the fans run at full speed.

I tried: deleting permissions. setting them up again
I tried: above with reboots in between
I tried: reinstalling BTT after deleting everything related from my system

In the last few months it happened about 2-3 times a week. Now it is every single time my computer comes from sleep.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: Macbook Pro 15, 2018
  • macOS version: 14.4.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4.525

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

Yes I have had this same issue for quite a long time (and I have the permissions set correctly). I am running 4.535 (45350) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 (23E224). I have found that restarting BTT allows it to work for quite a while, but it will eventually come back up again.
If it makes a difference, I rarely shut down or restart my Macbook Pro - I sleep it all the time by simply closing the lid.

unfortunately these permissions are not handled by BTT but by the system. Sometimes the macOS permissions database gets corrupted and can be hard to fix.

You can try to reset the permissions for BTT with this terminal command (make sure to quit BTT first). This sometimes helps to fix the macOS database:

tccutil reset All com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool
