Non-contiguous text/object selection missing in MacOS

I recently moved to MacOS and am bewildered how some basic functionality is missing. Thankfully BTT solves a lot of them. One such thing driving me nuts is missing Ctrl+select from windows.... the thing which lets us select different portion of anything , usually texts but sometimes other things like objects in powerpoint (and many other places). Apple seems to say that Cmd+select will do the job but it doesn't. Finder (selecting files) and Ms Word (selecting non contiguous text) are the only two places where I managed to make it work.
I would really really request BTT to somehow emulate this in other places (at least browsers and powerpoint).

I think that would be pretty hard to simulate.

Maybe BTT's Clipboard Manager can help you because it at least keeps track of multiople single items you copied and allows you to paste them all at once. Clipboard Manager ยท GitBook

I agree true implementation of windows Ctrl+select is pretty hard.
Though I will try that with BTT, this doesn't solve my problem, because the problem is bigger you see....
Let's say I select 4 different items, and now I need to do 5 different actions to them, not just pasting (aligning, formatting etc etc ), depending on software Ctrl+click is huge thing.... I can just be left frustrated with Apple not understanding this.

Mh isn't that really up to the app to implement?

In most apps I know cmd+click (or in some option+click) works ok. (Power Point included, I can select as many objects as I want)

Thanks for your response.

I partially agree that it is up to the apps, but I don't understand why in Word it works but not in Powerpoint (I'll explain). Additionally first party apps don't work like safari/notes etc.

Now I agree that object selection is working for me (somehow it didn't before); but the non-contiguous text selection just doesn't work. Apple actually in their documentation say that Cmd+Select should work, but I see that for text it is not working anywhere except Ms Word. Am I missing something (I am on Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1
