Next Event Reminders Widget not formatting date as indicated

I have specified "EEEE, MMM d" as date format, but the result in the touch bar is always just "MMM d".

I want "Tuesday, Mar 22, 2023", but I get "Mar 22, 2023" no matter what I try????

PS: I have set up the Next Event Format as…

"{eventTitle}
{date}, {attendanceStatus}{all-day}{startTime} {-} {endTime} {@} {location}"

I was typing up this exact question when when I saw yours poop into the feed. Would love it if someone could help us out with an answer.
