Surely simple. Looking for best practice solution.
Deleting text thread in Apple Messages in Mac OS 12.3.1
I set up a 3 step, 2 finger tap macro, and it works, but is slow.
In Messages, after the File>Delete command, there is a prompt dialog in which you have to click Delete. No command key equivalent I know. I used the image recognition technique to look for the button. It works but is slow.
Someone has to know how to do this for a fast acting macro.
You can enable keyboard navigation for controls in System Preferences → Keyboard → Shortcuts → ‘Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls’. With this option enabled, the Cancel button is focused for activation with Space, and you can Tab to the Delete button and activate that with Space too.
This doesn't seem to work for me. I have a macro that gets me to the final dialog prompt and what I'm looking for is a way to click the delete key quickly. Tab and spacebar do nothing, even when I manually type them on the keyboard...
Figured it out. Was the keyboard navigation thing in system prefs. didn't see it all the way at the bottom until someone else had a post about it with a picture. thanks
