New Trackpad doesn't work with BTT

Hi there,

i just switched my probably 10 year old gen 1 magic trackpad to the newest model and BTT doesn't work with it. The built-in trackpad works normal. I tried to create some test functions to see whether for some reason I would have to set up everything from scratch, but that didn't work either. Is there any setting on which trackpad i can use? Have the latest BTT installed... Thanks

Richard

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

are you using that new trackpad on a very old machine? I think there are some bluetooth limitations that prevent the new trackpads from working properly on old machines.

no no sorry for not mentioning it... its a 2022 m2 mbp so that shouldn't be the case

Then there shouldn't be any limitations. Possibly check whether BTT can see the touches in its live view:

So it seems like i've found the problem though not sure how to remedy it. Live view helped as well... Weird thing is that when I am connecting it it shows up as Trackpad, when i connect it though the icon that flashes on screen is not trackpad but the magic mouse, and in Live view he doesn't recognize any clicks nor movement, only for the built-in track pad. What to do?

I mean this... i think i've always saw the trackpad imagine instead of the mouse... hm?

that doesn't even seem to depict a magic mouse but an old mighty mouse

Have you tried to restart your system? macOS seems to be confused

ok nevermind, seems its an issue with the OS. will reinstall and see whether its fixed. thanks
