Using this forum post and thanks to the great developer, I have set up my trackpad to function just like Windows, with tap-to-click, double-tap to right-click and tap to drag working with no delay. It works almost flawlessly. There is a minor delay with double-tap to right-click and taps sometimes don't work, but it is only seldom and good enough to not currently annoy.
However, as you can imagine and stated by the developer on the forum post, this can introduce unintended/unwarranted trackpad clicks, especially whilst typing. I have mostly resolved this by running a terminal command and script (found on GitHub) on launch, again with the help of the developer and community in this post.
That said, it would be incredibly useful to have all of this functionality built directly into BetterTouchTool for easier access and configuration, and less computer bloat. For example, an automation where the trigger is 'keyboard keystroke recognised' and the action is 'disable trackpad', with configurable settings to specify the duration in milliseconds.
Iām sure this is already possible, but at present, setting it up within BetterTouchTool is seemingly quite difficult.
Thanks; regardless, this app will certainly get a purchase from me once my trial period ends.
