I found a reproducible issue with the “Enable Scroll Events” feature on Floating Menu submenu items.
Important clarification:
This is NOT about the “Item Trigger” section, such as triggers on focus or hover. Those Item Triggers do not work for me with either the mouse or the trackpad.
The issue I want to report is specifically the “Enable Scroll Events” option in the item settings on the right side, and the Scroll Up / Scroll Down actions configured through that feature.
For the affected items:
- Enable Scroll Events is enabled.
- Trackpad scroll amount is set to 1.
- Regular Mouse scroll amount is set to 1.
Steps to reproduce:
- Restart BetterTouchTool.
- Open a Floating Menu and enter a submenu containing items with Scroll Up / Scroll Down actions.
- Hover one of these items and use an external physical mouse wheel.
Actual result:
The external mouse wheel does not trigger the scroll actions at first.
However, if I first use the Mac’s built-in physical trackpad and perform one two-finger scroll while hovering that same item, the scroll action is triggered. After this first trackpad trigger, future Scroll Up / Scroll Down actions in that same submenu can then be triggered normally using the external physical mouse wheel.
The same problem happens separately for every submenu that has its own scroll actions. When I enter another submenu, its external mouse-wheel actions do not work either until I first trigger scrolling once using the built-in trackpad in that submenu.
Expected result:
When Enable Scroll Events is enabled, both the trackpad and an external physical mouse wheel should work immediately. I should not need to use the built-in trackpad once for every submenu before the mouse wheel can work.
