I don't see a Mouse Button 4 or 5 option here, but I'd like to configure the side buttons on my Logi Lift mouse. When I click either of those buttons on the mouse itself inside the configuration window, it isn't recognized either.
Most importantly you first need to add a "Logitech Mouse Configuration", this will configure your mouse to work with BTT.
In the screenshot above you are looking at actions BTT can execute for any trigger - but what you want is to record mouse buttons that can then trigger any of the BTT actions.
Okay cool, I uninstalled Logi Options and applied the Logitech Mouse Configuration. That fixed it and I was able to map to Button 3, but it broke the scroll wheel. I can no longer scroll with this mouse.
Kind of a big issue, haha. @Andreas_Hegenberg I'm using a Logi Lift for Business.
@Andreas_Hegenberg I also am not able to configure the small button underneath the scroll wheel on the Logi Lift. Nothing happens when I click it while hovering over the button recorder. With Logi Options, this button by default toggles between two DPI settings, which is useful for when I switch from my ultra wide workstation to normal 16:9 workstation.
Now start BTT again and try to record the dpi shift button again, if it does not work please go to Help => Export Basic Debug Logs and send them to andreas@folivora.ai
I just sent the logs. What is fascinating is that it works with one of my mice - same model - but not with the other. I have tried power cycling it. In the logs you should see my successful attempt at mapping the two side buttons and the DPI button (button 10), but fail with the mouse I care about.
From your logs it seems like the mouse identifies with different identifiers depending on how it is connected.
Sometimes in your logs the mouse shows up as LIFT FOR MAC (connected via Bluetooth) and sometimes LIFT FOR BUSINESS (connected via Receiver). In this case it would be necessary to add two "Logitech Mouse Configurations" or alternatively enter the partial name: "LIFT*" which should match both:
Hmm ok, so I did that - but now the Button 3 action I have configured to open SWM doesn't work. Oddly, even if I switch it back to just LIFT for Business, it still doesn't work anymore. Not sure what I broke!
